Standard BLE vs. Beacon Mode
Every Phoenix Sensors wireless sensor uses Bluetooth Low Energy. How it's configured decides which App can read it.
Standard connected BLE
Your phone connects to the sensor for two-way communication.
- Used by WEXS, WEXS-10 and WEXS Pro
- Needed for onboard log (EEPROM) download
- Best when you need to configure the sensor
Beacon Mode
The sensor broadcasts its readings without holding a connection.
- Lower power, longer battery life
- Read by WEXS Beacon, WEXS-BLE-DSKTP and the WEXS-BLE-CEL gateway
- No onboard log (EEPROM) download
