PLT12 Submersible Liquid Level Transducer
The
PLT12 submersible liquid level transducer provides continuous hydrostatic level measurement for wells, tanks, reservoirs, wastewater systems, lift stations, and industrial liquid-storage applications.
Manufactured in the USA by Phoenix Sensors, the PLT12 combines a rugged submersible design with a 4–20 mA output and customizable measurement depths, cable lengths, housing materials, and cable materials.
Made in USA Submersible Liquid Level Measurement
The PLT12 is manufactured by Phoenix Sensors in Chandler, Arizona. Customers work directly with a U.S.-based sensor manufacturer for application review, product configuration, calibration support, documentation, and ongoing production requirements.
Rather than limiting customers to a fixed imported product, Phoenix Sensors can configure the PLT12 around the required liquid depth, cable length, pressure reference, housing material, and installation environment.
Built Around Your Application
Custom water-depth calibrations, cable lengths, housing materials, cable materials, and diaphragm configurations are available for OEM and industrial applications.
How the PLT12 Measures Liquid Level
The PLT12 measures hydrostatic pressure, which is created by the weight of the liquid column above the sensing diaphragm. As liquid depth increases, pressure increases proportionally. The sensor converts that measurement into a 4–20 mA signal for a PLC, controller, display, data-acquisition system, or remote monitoring platform.
This measurement method is commonly used for continuous water-level monitoring in wells, piezometers, tanks, and surface-water applications. The
U.S. Geological Survey provides additional information about using submersible pressure transducers in water-resource investigations.
Gauge configurations include a vent tube within the cable to reference the sensor to atmospheric pressure. Absolute configurations are available when a vented atmospheric reference is not appropriate.

- Bulk liquid storage
- Equipment-mounted tanks
- Remote level-monitoring systems
Custom Depths, Materials, and Cable Lengths
Liquid-level applications vary by media, depth, tank geometry, temperature, cable routing, and control-system requirements. Phoenix Sensors can configure the PLT12 around the installation instead of forcing the application around a fixed catalog sensor.
When requesting a quote, provide the liquid being measured, minimum and maximum depth, required cable length, operating temperature, control-system input, and any exposure to sediment, turbulence, chemicals, or salt water. Material compatibility should always be evaluated using the actual liquid concentration and operating conditions.
